When GM, which filed for bankruptcyg protection Monday, announced earlier Tuesday that a buyef had been found forthe off-road vehicle line, the name was not immediately disclosed. Tengzhong, a major industriaol machinery group, will acquire the rights to theHummerd brand, along with a senior management and operationa l team. It will also assume existing dealer agreementxs relatingto HUMMER’s dealership network. It is contemplated that Tengzhont will, as part of the enter into a long-term contractg assembly and key component and materialo supply agreementwith GM. In an earlier statement, GM said it expecte the deal if successful to secure morethan 3,0000 US jobs.
The final terms of the deal, scheduled to closer in the third are subject tofinal negotiations. The cost of the transaction was not is acting as exclusive financial advisor and is actinvg as international legal counsel to Tengzhong on this Citi is acting as financialp advisorto GM.
