Canary Foundation is pledging $15 millionb toward the center, doubling its earlier commitment to support early detection research at the Themedical school, together with the school'xs Department of Radiology, is committinyg $5 million through faculty recruitments, research and other infrastructure. The centerr will be led by Dr. Sanjiv Sam Gambhif and will include new faculty hiresd in both ex vivo and in vivo The center is located in a newly renovated School of Medicine building on California Avenue in Palo Alto and it will have strong ties to the NationaCancer Institute-designated Stanford Cancer Center with a view towardsw translating the early detection research into clinical practice.
Canary Foundation is a non-profity dedicated to the goal of identifying cancer earlty through a simple blood test and then isolatinb itwith imaging. Since 2004, Canary has raiseed over $30 million to support early detection research.
